I know that I have ranted about finding cheaper prices than your local shop before but (gulp) in most cases your local shop is who will give you the advice and help you fit these things (often for free). They do this to hopefully get you to buy stuff. I know that the shop that I work at is hard pressed to buy ww stuff because they recognize that I spend hours with customers who use my knowledge and time (sometimes even trying retrofits) and then I pull the fit back out and they buy it online and put it in themselves. What really gets us is when they have a problem they want free help again or a discount on the next thing they buy. It is really hard on the market when this happens. :bitching: :bitching:

Sorry. I know price is hard. I still rent a paddle because I lost mine a long time ago and am buying a new boat.

It shows the customer loyalty. I know my local outdoor shop (not paddling shop cause I work there) throws me some super deals a number of times a year like 50% off of stuff or pro deal cause they are making an order and I need something they don't have. In the end the local shop may start to do this for you. Even if you get stuck with the standard 10% it will keep $ going to your shop and you will still have a shop.
