Sry guys...new boat help again 18 years 8 months ago #8483

hi everyone.
I´m going to buy my first kayak and i would like to get your opinion...
I´m from Portugal so i´m gonna do rivers and some sea surf too. I´m 1m70 and 85kg.
My indecision is beetween an Eskimo Kendo, Eskimo Speedo and a Pyranha Inazone 242. Any thoughts?

Thank you all

When you do rivers and sea surfingand it's your first boat, then the inazone will be a great boat! I had one for seasurfing and riverrunning and loved it. :)
Be careful with older kendo's, if the hull isn't flat you won't be able to flatspin on the oceanwaves:stop: I replaced my kendo for a Inazone and that was a right dissicion. The inazone is easy to control, stabel, nice to learn playboattricks and great in ww class III and IV.

The kendos can and will spin easily! the hull are flat enough for it and they make great river runners! the Inazone I agree is a lovely boat easy to paddle and will spin and cartwheel and a good river runner they used to make 3 origionally 220, 230, 240 then they moved to 212 (tiny) 222, 232, 242 and now only do the last two sizes with cheaper outfitting but comfy and good value for money.

Also think about the wave sport X or EZ or Big EZ very nice boats quite similar sort of area

But surfing is not about spinning or cartwheeling its about riding in the power pocket on the green wave using top and bottom turns to generate speed for off the lip aerial moves sure spins can be used to stall your self to return to the critical part of the wave but dont do hundreds in the white wash on your way into the beach as this is what is giving kayakers a bad name in the ocean
:(

Have fun and let us know how you get on or any more questions keep them comin 8)
