noggin covers 18 years 8 months ago #8556

I'm looking to buy a helmet - my head's vary precious to me, anyone know any good ones?

The strict buying conditions are: 1) protect head, 2) look cool, and 3) not get laughed off the water by buying a rubbish one. I'm new to this but advancing pretty quickly (even if i do say so myself  ) so I want something I can WW and surf in that will last a while.

cheers

For the coolest look and protection see the Sweet Strutter or the helmets from J3.
They are not cheap but they are solid and look really hot!

Cheers,
I know a bloke who's got a sweet strutter (now I know what its called) and it is a nice cover.

Does the cap peak bit make any real difference to the water draining away from your eyes?

No Sir!
The best helmets for that are the old style helmets.
Lot's of drainage on top.
The cool looking ones do not drain out the top so you deal with a bit of water in your eyes.
Still they arre good protection and look really cool.
I just bought a Red Strutter. I like it a lot:dance:

Personally I am a big fan of FNA Headgear. Grateful Heads is also worth a look. Both produce a high quality helmet and back it up. I think the quality on both is superior to the Sweet Strutter.

FNA headgear is the cat's ass. I know the maker and a buddy of mine custom paints the helmets for an additional charge. I should have some pictures up on ebay as he is trying to sell one of the helmets he did. Hopefully I will have them by the end of the week. I will post the link here then.
