Why do you want it on the top?

I had a similar problem a while back with my old sprayskirt. I used a contactglue called \"bison kit\" (it's a Dutch brand I believe, it's a yellowish, smelly glue that has to be applied, then dry for 20 minutes, reapplied and then after a few minutes the bits are put together) . This stuff is great for glueing neoprene (I prefer it over neoprene glue) and also can be used to glue foam blocks in your boat.

This is the Dutch link to the product, it comes in different sizes (cans, tubes etc.): www.bison.nl/NL/nl/view.do?UID=af993e0fc2c7dd2dc07b98

Anyway, I applied this layer on the inside of my sprayskirt and it worked like a charm. It kept the deck from popping off and even helped it lasting longer.

if you have it on the top it makes it more durable when deap water rescueing etc. from the looks of it that stuff is just contact adheisive , is it something different i might give the contact adhesive a go cos i can get it realy cheap

It doesnt make the deck more durable as deep water rescues crush the neoprene it can still be teared aswell (Quite easily infact!) It makes sense on the under side as it grips your boat tighter you could also try waxing your cockpit rim with surf wax to get a better fit for repairing decks i use evo stick super strength awsome stuff!

Yep, that stuff is just contact adhesive I guess. I just didn't know the proper English brands/terms but my descriptive blabla was clear enough :roflol:

I did my spraydeck way back in 1998 and it's still in regular use on my surkayak.
