Does anybody else think the 'nene whitewater centre' is a complete waist of money!! £10 for an evening which was on shallow, narrow and powerless features and thats not to mention the overcrowding and constant bumping in to each other!! if you want my advise save a little bit more money and go to a decent course like nottingham.

i aint a local man i live bout 3-4 hours away. and the nene is a gd site for every 1. not everyone can go to nottingham coz its a much harder course. y dnt u try paddling the nene durin the day on a sunday coz that is 1:30 till 6:00 which is 4 and a half hours. plus the water at the nene is alot cleaner. y dnt u try goin to more places y not go to the tryweryn nd play up there which i have been up to nd am goin agen next weekend. next time u call some 1 a local boy hu sticks to the \"safe areas\" get ur facts straight ok

So you are alowed to have/share opinions but mhool isn't? If you won't allow anyone to have a different opinion than you joey I suggest you find something other than the internet to occupy your time. If not, be prepared to get angry fairly often, especially on a public forum like this.

Any where in the summer is very crowded as there is nothing else to paddle!

Personally I like the nene especially for taking newer paddlers onto for practise during the sumer months so calm down.

Yes its small but friendly but it stil has things to play in and the holes will let you loop cartwheel etc it gets no more crowed than HPP and is cheaper and cleaner.

Personally I prefer the Tryweryn Really nice clean water but not as beginner friendly but through the summer we all have to make do with these unless it rains heavily or theres a decent swell

or theres always my favourite spot works all year round the Bitches

you all keep saying how gd the nene is for begginers this may be true, however when i was learning to river run im sure as hell would have hated kayaking if i had to learn on an over-crowded shollow course! not only do people get put off by the crowded/moving eddies every time you capsize you bang/scrape your head along the bottom!! very good for confidence boosting!! and definatly will not be wasisting money there again!

goodbye,

When ever I have been there in dry spouts it seemed to be quite quiet, Ok it can get very crowded especially in the eddy by the main hole but the rest of the course tends to be less crowded.

A few weeks ago I was on the tryweryn sunny 10cumec release and a very empty river (well alot less crowded than normal!) a couple weeks before every one was there very busy if you arrive early you tend to get the river to yourself for a couple of runs and the same later in the day.

The same principle works in the nene and hpp if you arrive as soon as they boot the rafters off the course is much quieter the crowds build up then dye off again.

As for hitting your head on the bottom thats why you wear a helmet and because it is smooth concrete the blows are not as hard as a normal river and once people swim out they can walk to the sides empty and get back on.

IF you think the nenes shallow what about all the natural rivers they can be just as shallow but with alot more dangers for more serious injury!

At the end of the day most people tend to use it as training facility during dry spells to keep their skills up for when the rain returns and for that it is fine and I believe if you take a passport photo with you you can join the nene paddlers and get reduced entry costs if you dont like it fine you can go elsewhere paddling has very different aspects and most people enjoy different things out of the sport, which is fine BUT just because you thought the place is uBer shite caus you had a bad whatever is your opinion and just because others dont agree with you means that they are wrong either as you said you could alway go to the way more expensive course in nottingham wait for ages in the ques and get a short ride now then thats up to you but for most of us thats too far to drive for a day visit and so we will use the tryweryn and the nene

Happy paddlin
