remvoing footpegs? 18 years 8 months ago #8747

I have a wavesport kayak and I find the footpegs really uncomfortable. I want to take them out, and put foam in. Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to do this, the shape of the foam, where to begin? I've tried looking on the internet... no help. Anyone know how?

Thanks.

What helps is remove the front pillar and use that to draw the outline on a piece of foam. At least you have a rough shape that has the right curves. Next draw the shape of the nose (the flat area) and cut that out. After that it's a matter of tuning and scraping to get a perfect fit.

BTW: don't forget to make sure the holes where your footpegs used to be are plugged ;) . If possible just put the old bolts and washers back in, that should work fine.

You should be able to remove the pedals off the rails at one end give both a try, if not unscrew them remove the pedal put the foam foot rest in and either put the rail back in place to block the holes (usseful for resale) or use blanking bolts from a hardwear store to make sure the screws dont stick into your legs!
