I am looking for a gift for the wife... she complains of hand soreness after paddling, and it looks like she needs a small shaft paddle.
Another lady on the river had a what looked like a nice one - a Seven2 paddle ---> Anybody have any experience with these? The website is pretty poor, and I can't seem to find a dealer...

Any other recommendations?
Thanks!

Werner makes a small shaft paddle as well. If her hands are sore I'd reccomend a small shaft + bent shaft Werner. More durable than Seven 2 but more expensive as well. If she doesn't paddle water where breaking a paddle is possible, I'd go Seven 2. Darin

My friend has a seven 2 paddle that him and his wife share. It does seem to be heavier than my wife's werner. He also felt that the werner was much stiffer, like it was getting more power to the water than his paddle. They also say that if you get a good seven 2 then you are set but if not good luck. They have had a number of friends break them very early in the paddles life and be told tough luck. If she is suffering hand fatigue look at a bent shaft small shaft as well as this puts your hand and wrist in proper alignment decreasing the strength needed.

As far as i know the newer Seven 2 range is much more durable, I have the white Aridium series and i've put them through hell, everything from the Zambezi to tight creeks to shallow play. They're still going and the grips are really comfortable.

Good luck

seven2 paddles are pretty nice with the grips...but they break very easily...if she wants a paddle that will last a while....then go with a small bent-shaft werner paddle....it'll last a very long time....i've had 3 seven 2 paddles and they all broke within 2 weeks

Thanks for the comments all. Once again, sounds like werner has a 'lock' on things... too bad their pricing scheme follows that!
Anybody have any beta on bending branches paddles?
