Well to give a short and sweet answer the Kokatat Gore-tex suits are way way way above the others mentioned and are worth every penny they cost.

If the budget doesn't currently stretch that far I'd still go for the Tropos model. 2 year warranty, excellent options (relief zip and socks) and excellent back-up in an emergency.

Stohlquist used to be good back when they were using Gore-tex but I think this year is the first year since the takeover that they've produced a drysuit.

NRS seem to be OK. I've a mate who has one but the size is all wrong. Thankfully I think they've started supplying suits with spray-skirt-tunnel as opposed to those splash suits;-P

Cheers,
Colm

If you are going to spend lots of money on a quality dry suit then get one with a relief zip (the technical term for a piss zip) fitted.

You can not imagine how long it takes to: take off your helmet, PFD and deck, get out of the thing and then put it all back on when you are kayaking.

Also get one with the new gore-tex socks rather than the latex ankle seals, warmer and easier to put on and they last longer.

Batman100: I can't believe that there's a suit with neoprene seals that claims to be dry. Splashproof maybe but dry in a complete immersion - definitely not.

Kayak Kid: A drysuit that keeps you dry until you swim is not a drysuit.

I have used kokatat dry clothing and have found it to be the best quality when compared to anything else I have seen. My wife is the sales manager for a paddling shop and out of all the samples she has seen she likes the kokatat stuff the most. The price tag is the hardest part.
