Tywarp paddles 18 years 6 months ago #9945

Has anyone heard of tywarp paddles. If so what has your experience with them been. Has anyone paddled with one and how did it feel. Was it comparable to a Werner or not? Any info would be great.:D

Tywarps are a lot cheeper than Werners and you see that when you get a pair in your hands. The finish leaves a lot to be desired. My buddy won't stock them in his shop anymore as he considered the finish too sub standard. However they are the cheepest set of full carbon paddles avalible in Europe.

I saw 4 Tywarp paddles break in 2 months on the Zambezi last year which should say a lot. Very flimsy.

I've not heard good things about them... I know someone who broke one within days. At least the paddle was replaced... :|

I've stocked these paddles for a year and a half now and have to say they are possibly THE best value paddles on the market. While people either love or hate the graphics the construction is decent enough for what you are paying for. A couple of team paddles broke a couple of sets in Uganda last year after 2 months of daily use (abuse) and they were replaced. And let's be honest, what make of paddles haven't broken on the Nile/Zam??? The 2006 model, one piece design are a lot better than the old DIY assembly models too.

All right Colm. Do you carry Werner? Have you ever paddled the two back to back to get a feel for the differences?
