Well, technically it is possible to make a really tight outfitting that allows you to use your legs to stay in the boat.

Although in the end this guy also did put in straps.

thanks for the quick reply

do the straps prevent you from getting out of ur boat?or can you just take your legs out of them without having to undo anything

I have found that when you are trying to stay in the straps keep you there. When I want to get out I twist my feet off the stirups and then I am able to slide back and get out easy. I use the rodeo strap system from Northwater. There is an upper and lower strap in the system so you are in pretty tight if they are set up right.

i used foam outfitting on my spanishfly rolled fine i did add straps once was happy. they hold you in more tightly makesure you use a decen quick release buckle. on my c1 squirt ive made a foam suicide block which comes over my thighs and is held down by the spraydeck. and a velcro lap belt which holds me in tightly and helps rolling cartwheeling etc. there are pictures of the squirt outfitting in a post further down labelled slalom c1 i think if not there in the gallery under my user name!

you can make a foam bulkhead to hold you in
check cboats.net they have an outfitting section or
www.openplayboater.co.uk/c1_outfitting1.htm
or
www.open-canoe.de/open-sucks/outfitting.html
