Got some pics of the new Fluid protos that were just tested on the Zambezi. Enjoy

Just out of interest sake. Do any other kayak manufacturers produce a surf kayak made of plastic? I would guess that there is.

yes indeed they do the neutron is a very nice plastic surf boat personally prefer it to the maverick and they are cheap around £399 or extra £100 for a foam core plastic which will be stiffer!

the amobea carver has a bit too much rocker and uses very flexy plastic not what you want in a surf kayak:( but is cheap and a good place to start!

Riots outfiitings tend to rust very quickly in salt water but a step in the right direction giving you more support that the rest

Funny you should ask this because when Fluid brings out the Element it is going to be in composite and they will only make production boats in plastic if there is a big demand for them.

DragoRossi Squashtail has been out for the past two years, if that's what you mean.

I know that Corran is pretty excited by these boats because it just further validates what he's been doing lately: speed based carving freestyle moves.

Boats like this are different to handle, but competent paddlers will have them down lots of class IV rivers. I've really enjoyed my own Squashtail and am happy that more people will be joining the \"need for speed\" carving club soon.

Yeah, you got it spot on. In the video Andrew Pollock is using a Nemesis prototype. I can see where the confusion is coming from as he was paddling it in the ocean which may mislead folks into believing it was the Element.
You can see that its a playboat and not a surf boat though.

I don't know where this comes from?

My guess is that this was a somewhat out of context answer to Adrians original question about whether there are more plastic surfkayaks in the world.

BTW: I once owned a white plastic surfshoe. Too bad I could not get in though (my hips were too wide) so I never paddled it. It was an old design though with lots of oilcanning going on so I guess when I got it it was not much of a surfcraft. But I got it for free so it was easy to make somebody else really happy with it ;)

The video is the Nemesis, yes. But the second link (the story thing) has both. The first 3 pics are of the Element, the the other 3 are of the Nemesis.
