Wavesport recommendations! 18 years 5 months ago #10881

I've been paddling for over a year now, and am looking to buy my own boat. I'd like to get a wavesport, I've demoed them and they seem good. I'm looking at either the EZG 50 or the ZG 48. The ZG is a little bit shorter, by 3 inches. I am looking for a river runner / playboat. However, I'm concerned that the shorter the boat I go for, that it won't be able to handle bigger water with holes etc. I'd really appreciate any recommendations. Any other boats to look at, besides the zg or ezg? Thx! How are the jackson boats?

The jackson funs are supposed to be great. I have only paddled an old one and really didn't like it. My friend didn't like them either but loves his new one. You should also look at the Dagger Rx. The 6.7 is 52 gallons. If you are in the top of the weight range in the EZG the extra 2 gallons may add a little bouyancy for running. If you are looking for a running boat going with a little more volume may by the right thing. In a play boat a bit less. What type of paddling are you hoping to do?

unless you want it for creeking, i would say definitely go for the ZG. One of my mates has an EZG, and to me it feels like just a worse version of the ZG. Although it is significantly shorter, it is still incredibly fast and stable, but if you have the chance, try one for yourself.
