Let's See How Well Wave Sport Warantees Boats 18 years 5 months ago #10906

I've had my Transformer (T2) for three seasons now. It developed small cracks around the washers on both sides of the cockpit where the seat and backband attach. A couple of days ago paddling in the ocean surf my boat really began to take on water. I looked down to see both washers on one side were pulling through the plastic and the two screws on the other side were starting to crack also. I should also quicklyl mention that I take good care of my boats and my gear.

I can't take it to a dealer as it was a gift from a deceased family member. I have sent two e-mails to Wave Sport and have received no reply. This is clearly a defective boat.

And now to see how well Wave Sprot warantees its boats. :?

I had 2 Big EZ's of mine crack in the exact same way. Both times the boats were less than 6 months old and in excellent condition still. Both times they were replaced. It was a problem with SOME of the EZ's. A mate of mine has a T2 and his has cracked on both sides of the seat at those same bolts you're talking about. But his boat is a couple of seasons old and was used daily on the Zambezi. If the seat pulls down on those bolts over time because the heights are not right, the sides will crack. It's a high stress concentration area. The Transformer is an old boat in any case. I don't want to sound negative but I'm not so sure they will replace your boat. At the time when I bust mine the Big EZ was and still is in full production. The Transformer is not. I wish you the best of luck though. Maybe they can offer some kind of deal on a new boat. Who knows. Hope you come right.

I work for a dealer in British Columbia. We will warranty any boat we sell even if we didn't sell that particular one. Try a dealer if you have one locally.
