sidekicks have bigger blades, bent shaft is better for your wrists, im gunna buy sum cranked sidekicks after christmas, not the glass ones though,

hope that helps

The bent shafts are only bent on one side of the paddle arent they?

I am not sure what you meant. The shafts are bent so that you wrist aligns in a neutral position. I have wrist problems that clear up when using a bent shaft. I would encourage all to use one because if you don't have wrist pain now a bent shaft will help ensure that you don't have problems in the future.

The shaft is bent on both sides so it aligns your wrist. The bent shaft does make the paddles a little heavier and not quite as strong but I have a pair of cranked glass players and they're fantastic!
One thing i have read is that sidekicks can be difficult to manage in big water unless you have the strength and conditioning. Thats why i went for the players.
hope this helps!

smaller blades are also better for your joints as they put less strain on you when paddling. Personally I love the players and will keep on using them for a long time. If you mainly playboat quite young /growing i wouldnt recommend the sidekicks but if youve stopped growing and are quite big strong then up to you ive never found a reason to go to a bigger blade

As a bigger paddler I like the bigger blade for both river running and playing. I have both a straight shaft and a bent shaft, but prefer the bent shaft as it is so much easier on my elbows (tennis/kayaker elbow). I also like the 12 degree feather. Either way you can't go wrong, you have a nice reliable paddle.
