The Astral Newton is a really good choice i would say, it costs about £80, people i know who own them really like them.
A little quote from an owner \"it doesnt even feel like im wearing a buoyancy aid\", apparently it gives alot of freedom and is incredibly lightweight.
I don't work for astral or anything, i've just worn it and really want one :D

Also, the palm Fusion is quite a good one, gives good freedom aswell.

agree with Kicks...the Newton is the way to go...they have two pieces of foam in the front now...one wrapping around the waist to the back and the other up straight and what not....its definently easy to throw tricks such as mcnastys and air wheels with it than other PFD's..so yeah...the Newton is def. the way to go!

I use one of those WS pfd's for playboating, really like it but i dont think they make these anymore, check it tho. Otherwise as others say, the fusion seems allright and the newton is cool.

I wear an astral newton and think that they are really comfortable and you barely even notice your wearing one

I'd go with the Astral Newton as a playvest. PeakUK also do some nice vests as do palm. NRS make great rafts not too sure if that means that they would make great PFDs?!
