New playspot 18 years 4 months ago #11450

Hey all
A friend and I found this nice v shape wave this weekend. It is quite fast and you get some bounce. I don’t know how deep the tip is yet, but I think it will be good for blunts and backstabs.

The river is on a fairly high level now, and because it is man made, I am a bit cautious of left over steel and stuff underneath.

The weir looks a bit dangerous though, and the eddie isn’t that great, but again on a lower level that island will help.

Let me know what you guys think and if you know of something similar.

I can't upload the image. exceeds pixel width. I posted the images in my gallery under V wave:

Thanks adrian. I tried to resize it, had no luck. What did you use to resize the pixel width?

I clicked your link and saved that picture straight up. I then opened it up in Paint Shop Pro and said, 'save as' and made it a *.jpg file. Much smaller than a *.bmp. If I had your original then I may have made it about 500 pixels wide. The current picture on this thread turned out to 440 pixels wide. That would fit nicely onto Playak. Jeroen has limited the size because otherwise people want to view the forums but don't want to have to download huge pictures in the thread itself. Not everyone has fast internet. ;)

I was having a look at that spot. Looks small when one looks at just the weir itself. But once there is a paddler on there it looks somewhat different.

I see the level over the last week has been about 365 cumecs. Very nice indeed.

that wave is about 70 - 90 meters from where the photo was taken. we used a 400mm zoom lens to take the pics.

thanks for all the trouble. I did resize the pics last night with picture project, i was under the impression that these pics must be the same as the pics you upload to your galleries.

next time i will resize them a bit smaller.
