Today, I shut the regular Playak services down because I needed all CPU power and bandwidth to make backups.

The Playak server is standing in a datacenter in Houston and it seemed we might be in for some very big problems thanks to hurricane Rita.

Most of the staff of the datacenter were sent away and although there is a lot of diesel available for emergency power, we would still be in deep fertilizer if other things like communication lines or the servers themselves would get hit...

I finished the backups now and it seems Rita got downgraded to a class 3, so the regular services are back now. If things still go wrong, you may see a Playak next week that looks exactly like yesterday's Playak :-)

Let's just hope Rita gets downgraded to a class 0 asap....
