First post, so sorry if I mess things up!
I'm looking for a new river play boat, just sold my pyranha seven O ( I was fed up of being back looped on IV rivers).
I weigh 95kgs (209lbs) ( yes, I know I'm on a diet!) and am 6 feet tall (183cm) (size 11 feet) and am looking for something I can still play in, but will let me have more fun than my H3 on III-IV rivers etc.
I'm thinking of the LL CR250 or the Superfun 2007 edition.
Has anyone paddled these boats? If so what do you think ( ride, outfitting etc).
Also does anyone know when the new jackson 2007 range will be available in the U.K?
Finally any other suggestions for boats for a big fella?

Cheers and mery xmas!

Hi

I'm 6'2\" and 230lbs, I've had a 2006 Super Fun on demo, loved the boat on flat water and grade I/II, for grade II/III I found it a little edgy. You might be fine in it, I was just a little heavy so catching the edges - nothing scary but hot what I was after.

My main problem, I had pins and needles - this is a common theme for me so suspect that it's more my problem than boats - I even get it in my daughters Dancer! I suspect it's an old rugby injury playing up.

I'd say the 2007 will be great, I've been told they're coming into the country in January/Feb at the latest. If you contact SquareRock (www.squarerock.co.uk) they're the UK distributors.

In terms of the boat - I love it and will definitely, definitely get an 07 super fun - with the new models you might even fit a fun. I think it's just a great boat, dry as a bone, stable and really (sorry!) fun.

The outfitting was very impressive, happy cheeks, happy feet and best of all the back band on a rope (no ratchets that break) I loved them all.

Sorry, just a Jackson fan - think the fact they make boats for bigger fellas is great - I have a Super Hero at the moment.

If you check out the Jackson website - there's a podcast (also available in MP3) with EJ talking about the new funs and the sizing, that might help.

Good luck

Pete

Cheers Pete,

So hopefully will have more of an idea soon.

I have a seven o and have never had that problem. i have the medium/large and have to say... i love the way the boat performs. Although I do have to add that it is my first boat. However it has helped me achieve many goals for my first 3/4 of a year in paddling. I am already paddling some class 4 rivers, and even some 3 creeks. Just have to lean forward in a small playboat through that kinda stuff. The new recoil is supposed to take all the problems your talking about and fix them, and adjust \"our\" boat for better performance in thes catagories.

Here are a few links with reviews that I have found:

Not too sure about the recoil, having had quite a few pyranha boats over the years (magic bat, s8, s6x, s6f), I think it's maybe time to try something different..... (although I still love my H3)
I've always found the backstrap on the boats a bit if a pain, as well as it being very fiddly to adjust the seats etc.
I've tried eveything with the seven O (leaning forward, back , moving the seat etc), but just find I catch the tail/bow too much in it, to comfortably run anything above grade III.
As a playboat it was great, just looking for something a bit more versatile now.

Cheers

Ratchy:)
