Any thoughts on Dagger G-Ride 18 years 3 months ago #12192

Hi,

Ok so I am admitting defeat with my necky vibe, getting to old, to fat and too many injuries for a fast small play boat. So I saw the relaunched dagger g-ride 6.5 going to have a test in one tomorrow just wondered what your thoughts were on it. Looking for a play / river runner but mainly a play kayak that will take a bit of weight.

All thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

It's a great river runner, but you'll need great technique to be able to throw it around.

I would probably suggest running 2 boats a full on creeker and a play machine.

I never got on with the Gride I never found it comfortable and i paddle squirt??? The EZG from wave sport is a very nice river play looser than the dagger nicer to play in or maybe the juice thats more comfortable and easier to throw around.

Your other option get a lovely glittery squirtboat from Murky Waters The Urge is lovely to paddle on play features, seams or down river!

Thanks for your replies, I liked the G-ride but definatly more a river runner with a bit of play, bit dissapointed with the layup seemed very basic with no optional upgrade. then tried a Liquid logic cross river looked ok but again more a river runner with bit of play excellent layup. Then a jackson FUN which I liked alot but hated the layup, the string on the sides after 20 mins started chaffing my side. So then tried the pyranha 4twenty and loved it, thought it would be to similar to the vibe (in terms of size) but what a difference got in the wave everytime with no stress... So I went home with one, the wife is gonna kill me...

Urge, I have an angst, nice an glittery too ;-) normally use it in the summer but seeing as the weather aint to bad we are have a squirt session at Shepperton tomorrow, too far for you but hopefully meet up some time, was thinking about the wye for a squirt sometime. It is pretty low cut so not really good for river running just mysteries and playing in flat.

Cheers
