I hope i dont get decked for posting this!
A review from a friend.

Independent review of the new Jackson Kayaks.

For a long time now Pikey (Chris Bucksey) and Jackson importer Square Rock’s main man Aaron have been trying to get me in a Jackson Kayak. The main reason for this other than to sell more boats is because they both know how much I didn’t get on with the original range. I have now paddled both the new Fun and the new Allstar and here is what I have to say.

Factors they both have in common.
· Extremely quick to set up, no messing around 10 mins max.
· Extremely roomy considering how small they both are.
· Extremely comfortable, increasing paddling time without having to get out.
· Extremely quick hull and that’s a massive biggy for me as the uk features are mainly slow and require that extra speed.
· Extremely light in weight.

The Fun
Is a great play boat and goes massive; it carves like no other boat I have paddled. All play boating tricks are possible but this isn’t where it stops this boat is brilliant down rivers. Its very stable forgiving and because of the very well thought out rails carves into the line you choose and stays on track. I can imagine it being good on the surf as well because of the way it holds a carve.

The Allstar
This boat is the best play boat I have paddled. It’s extremely loose and can spin forever. The boat excels in every area so far I can’t fault it. Loose, quick, release’s exactly when you need it too and it carves really well. The boat goes massive on every aerial move. It is several steps up from the Fun but that doesn’t take away how great the Fun is especially for someone who wants to play boat and run middle level rivers.

The new boats from Jackson Kayak are Awesome and I recommend everyone goes out and demos one, either from your mates, sponsored paddlers, the shops/importers or me when I receive my shinny new toys from Jackson.

See you on the water in whatever Kayak you choose but I do strongly recommend Jackson Kayak.

well, here you are getting slammed. The reviews are very nice. It starts out by saying how amazing and perfect the Fun is, then it says why the all-star is more perfect for many of the same reasons. It's hard to find a review of a boat that has concrete details like for example, I was surfing this wave in my star and i kept blowing off without hardly getting established.
Then Todd Baker has like, \"the star is a really slow boat. it's not you, its the boat\"
and then I responded with some curses and was like \"the star is a fine boat\"
Then Todd Baker slapped me for speaking such blasphemy, and he was like, \"try out this boat.\"
And I was like \"ok w/e, if you want to see me blow off again\"
Then I was like \"oh shit, I caught the wave.\"
Then my boat starting hoping around when I would slide down the green and i started doing all these things I couldn't do in my star.
And to make a long story short, I soon found a project in my garage.

So, now you have a template for a review that is more than hype. :)

I would like to try the new funs though.

genereally, if one is interested in giving an opinion of a boat, they would do so in the REVIEW section of this website

playak.com/kayaks.php?op=newreview&bid=492

hint hint, wink wink , nudge nudge

Has anyone ever paid full price for a boat and then posted a review about how much they hated it? Most people, myself included, buy a boat they dig and then think, \"Wow, this is a great boat, I bet everyone would love this boat.\" Then they write a review hoping others will also enjoy the same boat, and so it goes. Next thing you know, it turns into a \"my boat is better than yours\" situation, and we repeat this dance every year or so. Fact is, nobody wants to think they paid $1000 for an inferior boat, so they start defending their purchase. I have to say it is a bit played out. Don't we have anything better to talk about? Like, \"what's the best way to run Gorilla, on the Green.\" or \"What gear do you carry in your 1st aid kit?\" But I guess none of that matters if your not paddling a (insert your boat's name here)

My Mistake. I thought it was somewhat comical that it says that the star is perfect in every area, and also says that the fun is perfect. There appears to be too much perfectness, no room for improvment. Anyway, If that guy bought both of those boats for full price, then I would guess that he would have a lot of trouble deciding which boat to take when he goes kayaking. His comments are identical to what Jackson kayak says about the boat. :puke: regurgitated.
And for you aevanlloyd, i read your review and you actually said something useful about the boat.
Cool guys, so how long have you ever had to carry your boat?
I had to carry a diesel for 3 miles and my playboat for 2 miles a few times.

If you go to the respective kayaks page in the kayak database you can put those reviews in for the spesfic boat.

just to let you all know, Gareth hasn't actaully got either of the boats, we are struggling to get the JK boat in to the UK quick enough!only 6 Allstars in the country and all demos.
sure i could of put it on the review section but as i was 2mins from walking out the door i thought on here was better than none,
And if you haven't noticed Nathen, gareth has picked up the major differences, that being the Fun is great for playboating(i was usinging as my playboat until the new allstar came out!) but also for running rivers, that being why its called a river running playboat! and for once there is a boat that exceeds in both catagorys,
then he says something very important about the allstar!
\"This boat is the best play boat I have paddled. It’s extremely loose and can spin forever. The boat excels in every area so far I can’t fault it.!

yep the Allstar is a All out playboat and when your paddling it cant you just tell!

the way i described the new Allstar to gareth was this!
The Fun is one of the better playboats out on the market, but the Allstar simply redefines playboating for me!
Pikey
p.s there isn't one perfect written down in that review,
but i'd love to just mention that i thing EJ and David Kniht Have Designed to perfect boats. and if not i'm going to br having even more fun in 3 years time!

I carried my creek boat 3 miles once. Now that isn't very far, compared to other boaters, but it sucked. It sucked bad. I need to get a craw pack or something like it. What this has to do with this discussion, I have no idea. But carrying a heavy boat sucks, and mine is heavy. But it's sweet to paddle!
