Bliss-Stick SCUD 18 years 1 month ago #13528

What do people think of the SCUD? I have been wanting to paddle one, but just haven't had the chance. I am looking for a good all-rounder that can run the sh*t and still decently. How is the comfort of the boat? Will it support a long inseam, 34 or 35 inches with size 13 feet, without the seat being to far back? How does it handle in big water as well? Looks like a sweet boat.
Thanks!

Haven't paddled the SCUD a huge amount, but every time I do I have been pleasantly surprised. The SCUD excels as a steep, low volume creeker AND as a fun playboat when extra volume is desirable.

On the creeks it is extremely agile and manouverable so you can thread delicate lines through rocky rapids or catch micro-eddies larger kayaks could not. The SCUD has been faulted for getting caught too easily in holes but from my experience the SCUD has not been caught in anything a larger creeker wouldn't. The sizable bow rocker does help the nose to ride high and stop it diving under the water.

On waves it is surprising fast but then it does have the same hull as the RAD and in a hole it pops some of the biggest loops I've ever seen.

I would recommend trying one asap. You should fit in comfortably but you may be at the top of the size range. Only way to know is to try one out.
