What is it that you want of your kayak? Play, river run, all around?
I used to have an Ace 4.7 a few years back, and I don't think that it is an optimal boat to get or that it was a very succesfull design.
Let me explain. The boat is very slicy and balanced well for cartweels and flatwater. Thats about all for the up-side. I think that the older EZ series was a much better shape, friendlier, easier, more forgiving and still better for playing and riverrunning (good all around).
The Ace might hold you back (my oppinion) in playboating - it is a very old design, no pop, no bounce. Plus it is not much of a river runner or all arounder, if you know what I mean. Too slicy, too catchy. It is very easy to roll though. I found it a bit uncomfortable and especially tight in the feet area - didn't like that forced \"monkey feet\" position at all. :arghhh: And I am not as tall as you are.
I recon there are much better boats out there on the second hand market. Just look around and demo demo demo!

I absolutely LOVED my Ace. I was a bit heavy for it, so I eventually sold it, but it was a reluctant sell.

In response to wwdemon's post, yes, it is the easiest flatwater cartwheeling boat I've ever seen. It will easily hold stalls for minutes at a time. I've run class III/IV rivers in it, and even at my weight it was very stable and predictable. Yes, it has slicey edges, but as long as you stay pointed downstream or lean slightly downstream if you go sideways, it's not an issue. I liked the bulkhead foot system they have, just make sure you wear a small bootie or neoprene sock or you'll blister your feet.

Basically, this boat took me from a class II boater to a class IV boater in about a month and a half, because it was really easy for me to learn the dynamics of getting vertical. No, you won't be throwing air blunts in it, but it is a very fun boat to paddle.
