I have just registered on this site, this is my first post so go easy

I am trying to sort out some foot rests in my wavesport X. I have managed to get hold of the minicell foam from work.

Do i remove the central pillar?

Do i create 2 wedges for either side of the pillar?

I am completely lost with this, have no idea what I am doing, any help is appreciated

Well, factory gear you generally leave in and work around it. Take a close look at the center pilar, if it looks like it will just pop out it probably will... also, if it doesn't look like will just pop out... it probably won't. I have a riot booster w/2 wedges and a jackson w/1 wedge. It works either way.
You will be getting in and out of your boat many times. So, find a comfortable place to work on your wedges. Don't be in a rush ... take your time. Take a ball park measurement of what you need and for your wedge, then cut away...(a good serrated knife works well) first cut should be bit bigger than what you need ... you can always shave off mini-cell but not shave on. Deside what kind of a platform you want on the foot side... I prefer flat... some prefer a high spot on the arch side of your foot. Then start shaving for the back side to the contour of the boat to match the length you need this step will be repeated many times... shave shave shave. Make sure your seat is where you want it to be... once your done w/your foot braces you can only dial in your seat maybe a half inch either way.

Don't remove the central pillar. It has two purposes.

1. to make the boat more rigid so that it does flex and won't fold on you and trap your feet if you pin/broach. If the boat flexes too much you won't get as good air on waves and your deck could also pop.

2. used as a step to climb out of your boat in case of a vertical pin.

Not all pillars extend all the way to the nose of the boat. Fit it out with foam. Spinn120's advice was pretty good. Take your time and don't rush. Good advice.

I prefer to have my heels touching and then my toes outwards but pointing down and out. Like a duck. In my creek boat, my feet are flat on the bulkhead. Better for big impacts to absorb energy.
