Bliss Stick Rad 185 18 years 2 weeks ago #14694

Can anyone help me with some info on this boat?

I know it's a play boat. I know play boats are short which makes them more maneuverable.

I'd like to know about it's hull shape and volume distribution and how these affect the boats overall performance.

Any info on this boat and its performance would be much appreciated:D

Hey,

There are 4 sizes of RAD depending on your height and weight. What height and weight are you?

That would probably put you at the top end of the RAD 180 and the bottom end of the RAD 185. If you are looking for an out-and-out playboat I would recommend looking at the RAD 180 first but if you are looking for more of an allround playboat with river-running ability the RAD 185 may suit better.

By comparing the two boats...

I'd say go for the 185 out of the two. That 175 looks pretty low volume. :ask: Like Tuomas said in an earlier post. A smaller boat won't allow you to go as big on moves in waves and holes.. And you won't be as retentive, meaning, if you make one small mistake with a boat too small for you, you'll flush pretty fast. Depending heavily on the feature of course. Good luck.

Hi Adrian,

You need this comparison:

At 6'1 and 78kgs I feel this may be too light for the RAD 185 as an out-and-out playboat. It's got a lot of volume, esp in the bow, so it could be hard to throw around on the flat. However, at 6'1 it may be a squash in the Super RAD 180 but this would also depend on foot size.

Well, slightly different boat, but yeah the 180 you were talking about. Six one and 78 kilos for the 185 is not too light. That's my opinion.
