Hi

Im in Ashland WI at the moment & will be heading west from Duluth on the 10th July so not too much time left unfortunatly. I'll be returning the rental car to Duluth on the 10th Aug & will be here for nearly a week afterwards.
Let me know if you are able to meet up somewhere or just have any advice.
Mail me or my mobile no. is 612-978-6491

I'll be in Montana on about the 12th July for around a couple of weeks so anyone wanting to paddle please contact me, also the 'Montana Surf' book is out of print so I'd appreciate any advice.

Cheers
Brad

Shoot me an email / reply here when you get back to the area. I live in Wausau Wi. We have a really nice man made course downtown. it is dam released (almost guranteed water) and they are having a recreational release Aug 12th... some top shelf playspots one of the best holes in the mid west is there (IMO). would be worth the trip. usually boaters from Chicago and the Twin Cities travel to paddle here.

it is a bit in advance as Im not sure of my schedule yet but I am willing to travel to hit up a river or two (I am off on the 12th)...Just have to see how schedules and water flows go.

Have fun in Montana... and drink a Fat Tire for me  :bounce:

Thanks Laddie
I've just gotten to Seattle & paddled a few good rivers on route.
Not shure when I'll get back but if its possible I'd like to check out that hole, most play features I've come across have been waves so a good hole would be great. Is it good enough for cartwheeling all the time or do you need a release?
I'll get in touch closer to the time to give you a heads up.

I'm guessing you'll go through Fargo... might be able to play below some of the reclaimed lowhead dams in town:

That's about as good as it gets for play in North Dakota ;)

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you...

The course is dam released...the next recreational release is Aug 12 from 10 am to 4 pm... well worth the drive if you can make it... the course is in downtown Wausau Wi

www.wausauwhitewater.org

trust me there is no real good water going on about here right now...a rec release in Wausau is a good time...great play, and all round good people...

Depending on where you are going to be staying, you might be able to hitch a ride...

try these message boards

www.bsbs.org

www.rapidsriders.net

you can post there and might be able to get a ride to town from some local boaters... If you come down early or need a place to crash for a day or two PM me I can hook you up.

See you on the water

Hey OUWxGuesser,
Looks like you are from GF. I live an hour from Fargo.
Good to see another paddler from the Midwest.
Have you paddled Fargo in 2007?
In the spring and after heavy rains a nice wave forms on the Wild Rice North of Twin Valley MN.
