Wavesport ZG 54 vs. EZG 50 18 years 2 days ago #14964

Narrowed down my boat choice to a zg 54 or ezg 50. looking to fit the bill of a river running playboat (some ocean surf), upto grade 3-3+. I'm 6ft 1, 80kg

Paddled a Wavesport zg54 today (on flat water only), seems pretty good, very balanced on the ends - although not as slicey as i'm used to (Pyranha S 8 ). On paper the zg and ezg have similar lengths, widths, depth etc - is the ezg a faster hull? I see it has more rocker - which one do you think will carve better?? I'm a huge wrap for the comfort factor of the zg - has anybody paddled both to compare?

opinions / experiences would be great - cheers

I paddle a ZG 54, my wife paddles a EZG 50. The ZG is more performance, surfs, and carves much better! Hands down, the difference in the hull of the ZG makes it a much more fun boat. It really will surf even small features. The volume in the stern of the 54 makes the flatwater a little more work.
