Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how well the Dagger RX 6.7 would surf? Granted, it's not a surf kayak but that's not what I am after.

I currently paddle the Fluid Flirt Medium which is a real nice boat but I still could use some improvement for my feet comfort-wise. Now I am getting better at playing I can stand being in that boat for a longer period of time which gets me cramped feet and lower legs when I push really hard. :(

Thanks in adavance,

Cheers,

Michiel

The RX is not a surf boat so don't expect surf boat performance but you know this already. Compared to most playboats (including the flirt) it will perform much better in the surf, it's extra length and speed being real assets.
This said I think the Seven-0 is a better choice than the RX, it surfs a bit better, it is a bit more playful and I found it more forgiving on the river as well as being a perfectly solid river runner (I did a fair bit of Austrian 4+ in one, I also got a third in plastic class at a surf comp last year in one).

I hope this helps,

Denzil

Hi Denzil,

Thanks for the information. I know the Seven-O is a nice boat (a friend of mine has one) but I've seen too many Pyranha's break, even in the near past (ie. last year). Although it is priced a lot less than Dagger (saves me 300 euro).

Something different: Did you get to paddle the Mega Rebel yet? It is slightly longer than the Flirt (2 inches or so) and might be another option.

Cheers,

Michiel

Ha, I found the \"problem\". My footrest (foam) used to be perfect but it must have deformed or something. It turns out a small bit is poking on a certain spot on my foot which appears to cause a cramp. The funny thing is: I figured it out when sitting behind my desk (wihtout shoes on) with my feet on the lower part of my desk-chair (I never do that, why I did it this time is beyond me). Anywya, I suddeny had the same experience so I tried my Flirt. bingo, that was it! Testing my Flirt I felt the footrest poking at my foot on the very same spot.

I guess the Jackson HappyFeet would be the solution to that?
