Connecticut playspots? anywhere relatively close? 17 years 9 months ago #16227

Whats up boaters,

Does anyone know any waves in the Connecticut area? Ive heard about George's Hole, but if George's goes out or is too low or too high, are there any other places to go?
Thanks all.

Georges on the Bulls Bridge section of the Housatonic needs the internet gauge at Gaylordsville to be between 4 - 5 for it to be worth hitting.

Everything is very dry up here right now.

Tarrifville gorge on the Farmington (t'ville) is the only show in town right now. And it's really only good above 1.7

The locals have done alot of work out on the Mongaup wave just south of Port Jervis, NJ. It's a wave, and not that big, but it is fun.

The Dryway of the Deerfield river in northwest Massachusetts is where we have all been paddling on weekends because it has a release schedule. The play is mediocre, which is why we have been hosting a casual down river race series called the Lozer Cup. Makes things a bit more exciting and we have plenty of time for playboat runs after the Sunday race. (which only lasts about 20 minutes)

Eye Ripper hole on the Rondout Creek over in Rosendale, NY is fun when there is water. The level has to be between 10.2 - 11

Lots of good stuff with rain, but we need some soon.

Thanks man!! Thats definatley a help, i've been doing some research on George's though, and people have recommended many different levels of play on it. Some say that you can run it as low as six inches!! others say you can run it between 1.5-2 and some actually say that when it gets up to around 3 it starts turning into a hole.

Either way, we REALLY do need some rain!!
