Event: Ashlu River Festival (2007) <br>

Join the Squamish Whitewater Paddlers, and the paddling community in British Columbia, in an outrageous celebration of one of the finest whitewater streams found anywhere - bar none.

Disappointing news folks!
I ran into Angie Ho (from Squamish Whitewater Club, the organizer herself) yesterday doing some flatwater at the local lake...
Long story short - there will be NO ashlu festival this year.

If there are any thoughts on that, I'd suggest next season at the earliest.
The festival's original purpose was to promote awareness of the power project development on the Ashlu.
That project is now well under construction, damage done as it were. Crying shame :arghhh:

In the end, the festival became an excellent paddle party. Perhaps it will be revived along those lines in the future...
