Hi all

Ive decided to buy a pyranha 420 rapid for my playboat and Im thinking off buying the Bliss stick scud as my river runner.

Does anyone have any comments on it or has one and can tell me if there any good.

Does anyone know the weight range for it?

thanks in advance

Hi,

420 is a great play boat. to be honest I had a few problems rolling it at first but just adjusted roll, really quick on a wave.

Bliss Stick I have no idea about, you might be better posting again in the general paddler forum. I do think that the bliss stick would be awesome for the rivers you have up there, perfect for boofs, waterfalls, creeking, reccon you will get alot from it, as with any boat try and blag / borrow and demo as much as possible.

hiya, the scud is a very short creeker with high volume. You'd want to be a pretty proficient paddler to get one of these comfortably around the river. Its kinda just a really big volume playboat. Its really designed for tight technical grade 4/5 and is probably not the best 'river runner' around. Just my opinion of course

The SCUD would be a fantastic kayak for tight and technical grade 4/5 paddling in Scotland. Having paddled one in Sweden for a weeks paddling trip I found it handled all water types extremely well, rode higher up on top of the water than most rounder hulled creekers and tended to skip over holes rather than plunging through them.

For general creeking/river-running the weight range would top out at 14 - 15 stone but the SCUD would probably take 16 at a push.

Bliss-stick UK will be at the up-coming Wet West Paddlefest and have demo kayaks available for use on the Moriston and Garry Rivers.
