Have been looking at the fluid spice to buy. there are none here in Australia so i can't demo. fluid boats in genaral are as rare as rocking horse sh*t over here. when looking on the site the section on out fitting shows minimul photos. and no mention of the foot rest area. has any one seen or paddled one how do they compare to other boats for outfitting and foot rests?

The Spice has loads of foot room and comes with foam blocks to put up in the front. Like most modern boats these days (non-creek boats that is)
You should start to see more Fluid boats in Australia and New Zealand in the coming months. Fluid will be bringing over a few containers this season. Have a look at this article for some pictures of the outfitting: www.fluidkayaks.co.za/Junction_070906.htm Only the Solo has plastic pillars as shown here though. The Spice would have normal foam pillars. Any more questions, shoot.  |

There are a couple of people sitting here waiting for those contaners. i already have a Spice or a flirt waiting for me on them.  thats pretty nifty out fitting. i understand that the Spice has a foam pillar not plastic but does it have that same plastic rib like hull stifner that the solo pictures (about the 13th set of pictures down) Also if you are in contact with the boys from there could you find out why they aren't returning email. maybe i have stuffed up in where i am sending to ( [mail address protected from spambots with javascript] ) but i have never gotten a reply for my questions. its only if i get on the forum here and happen to get onto someone like you. Only the Solo series has that rib like stiffener..

Hi mate! I'm paddling a L spice, just got off the river actually! A little high today, but decent surfing...
I have sz13+ feet, and there is a lot of room up there. The precut blocks are good, I've used them, and a small footbag. The rest of the outfitting is good, I haven't modified it much and it's quite comfortable. Fluid boats are coming out more and more, but the demand still seems to outstrip availability. I'm sure their new business arrangements will help with distribution, etc. I'm still hunting for Fluid T-shits, decals, hoodies, etc etc... Gotta brag I got one! |
