A good resource, and an excellent guidebook for SW BC...

ALSO - the Kelowna Canoe and Kayak Club should be a friendly bunch to hook up with!

Enjoy!

There are tonnes of rivers to paddle. If you get out here and are coming towards Vancouver give us a call at Western Canoeing and Kayaking in Abbotsford and we would love to paddle with you around our area. 604.853.9320

You should check out the Clearwater River in Clearwater BC (1.5 hours north of Kamloops). Some great play (water level dependent) and great wilderness area. There's also a festival in July on the Clearwater.

Mine is a similar question, so I'll keep it to the same thread. I'm moving to BC, from Toronto, come September and I'd like to know more about the rivers. I'll definitely hook up with a paddling club when I get out there. But I'm a little flexible when it comes to choosing a place to live. So the question: in BC, where is the ultimate place to live if you want to go paddling frequently? i.e. what cities/towns are close to good play spots?
