I understand why you are doing this but will a critical mass event have the opposite of what you are wanting to acheive, a mass paddle could upset the fragile local community aswell as the other place you are protesting against. You will take over every parking place in town. Don't get me wrong I do get why you are wanting to do this and support it, I am just concerned it might have a negative affect. I did a mass cycle protest in london, admitadly it was on the roads but when you do something like that you have to involve the local council and police. Have you informed the right people this is taking place?

I agree with this dude. A mass paddle is just asking for trouble in the fact if could potentially give kayakers a bad press in the community.
Also, >100 paddlers means at least one of them is a vandal/yob/nasty d00d.

Of course if the mass paddle was to be 'policed' and controlled and be less of a mass paddle and more of a group paddle, it could turn out to be great!
