Heya,
I use a fiber glass bent shaft Player - really like it.
Fiber glass is a bit heavier than the carbon one, right - but not THAT much difference otherwise.
My opinion - if you want carbon - go for the Double Diamond, if not - take the cheaper option.
By the way, why are you asking specificaly about Player? Have you checked the Twist? Smaller blades, neat paddle.
Another point to consider - all Werner paddles come with small shaft (optional) - if you need it. If your hands aren't big - advisable.
Hope it helps,
Enjoy! :roflol:

I have tried out most of the werner range, there isnt much difference in weight to be honest, the only difference is the hole in your pocket afterwards!
I am getting a Werner Sidekick anyway, fiberglass; mainly because they have brought it out in blue and their selling the white ones off cheap :D

the player has smaller blades than the double diamond... I lucked out our store is carrying Werner now so they are going to swing me a deal.. I just dont want to end up hating my paddle cause the blades are too big or something... sigh... and i can always get the player in carbon... anyone using the double diamond swear by it?

If you are already talking about smaller blades - check out the Twist!
You will enjoy it.
And btw, what's with the :skull: ?

I work for a store and we have both carbon and glass blades in our demo, staff beat down, fleet. I also own a DD and have paddled and AT flexi lots. Aside from price the biggest difference between the glass blades and carbon is that the glass will wear down faster. Over time as you bang it on rocks it will start to loose size. The carbon will last much longer to the abuse. My friend has a short box truck and the paddle rests on the back gate of his truck. He has a mark on the blade of his glass paddle after one season, he does paddle alot. He has now gone with a DD and two seasons later the blade still looks great. His wife has had her carbon twist for about 5 years and it's shape is not significantly different than my wife's glass twist. My :2cents:
