Tom_r Topic Author Offline Senior Member Posts: 22 Thank you received: 0	What are the main differences between the 07 an 05 Allstars? Jackson seems to sell the 07 as being a much better, eaier boat to cartwheel etc. Paddling an 05 Allstar an just wondering if the new boat is much better?

I paddled the original all star for a little over a year, as my first freestyle boat so can't compare it to much else. As an old school paddler I found it slow on a wave, but entertaining in a hole, and probably not ideal for learning FW tricks. I've since tried the new All star and really liked it. noticeably faster on a wave, easier to hold a line when ferrying, and easier for me to throw around on a wave. (I could get blunts when I couldn't in my old boat). I've also tried the new Fun, and REALLY liked it, so much so that I'll probably get one instead of a new allstar. I'm not a freestyle specialist, and the fun was great as a river play boat and I reckon it'll do everything I can manage when park and playing. I'm around 83 kg so probably at the top end of the weight range.

As they always say, try one out!

Batayak Offline Elite Member Posts: 137 Thank you received: 0	the 07 is a lot faster, smoother when throwing tricks, easier to throuw around, and it goes a lot bigger. That being said, unless you've got a lot of extra cash around I don't think it would be worth buying a new boat.

Yeah i'm thinking of getting the New Allstar, just need to demo one, from what i've heard it's a really great boat, just have to wait and see.

Although... i only weigh 67kg so i guess im kinda mid range for the boat... do you guys reckon i'll have trouble throwing it around. (At the moment i've got a G-Force 5.9 which i can throw around in a hole and blunt away on a wave with ease... but im too big for it...)
