I am a complete novice towards freestyle and play boating, i am a 3 star and have a solid role. I am about, 175 cm tall and weight 10 stone, but i am growing all the time so i will need one that i will be able to use as i grow. thanks hope you can help

Hi mate,

I have just gone through so many playboats trying to find one that suits me:frustrated: BUT now I have found one, I am 5' 8\" and I am a feather weight at 9 stone (ish)

I tried the Wavesport EZ and my feet hurt somewhat cronic and its only a tad shorter than my river runner!! I then tried out a fish and that was too big for a playboat, now I am on a pyranha 420 rapid in s-m and this boat is amazing it has done everything I ever wanted from it. I would recomend going to a dealer and trying out boats first dont waste money like I did.

Hope this helps

Paul

try www.bournemouthcanoes.co.uk

They have a second hand section, always worth a look, I paid £399 for my pyranha 4twenty and it was brand new!!

Let me know how you get on

Hey,
If you are new to playboating, then it might be an idea to get a slightly older model of playboat. This way it shouls be easier to pick one up second hand plus (I found) it means you learn a better technique with skills, so are able to easily transfer them to other boats later on.
I was in a similar situation to you when I was looking for a first boat and in the end went for a Pyranha S6. Learnt all the basics in it and was cheaper than buying the latest boat. Try looking for one of those, pyranha S6F, dagger g-force (can get those new cheaper than most boats), wavesport ZG...
Just check out the for sale section on various forums, or try and meet other boaters in your area and see if they have anything they could offer you. Oh and as paul says, try before you buy!!
Good luck!!

I'm in exactly the same situation as you.
If you want to go new then i reccomend the Dagger Agent or the Dagger RX (bigger one)
But if you want to go second hand/cheaper then i also reccomend the Fluid flirt, Waversport EZG or Pyranha 4Twenty.

Hope this helps

I was in the same situation as you. i am a 16 and I ended up with a dagger g ride 6.2. it is a great boat but if you spend a very long day on the water it does get a bit uncomfortable. if you are not interested in river running at all i have noticed that the more hardcore playboats often have a poorer second hand value (in tassie anyway. i assume it is a bit the same in England?) .

good luck with the search

I would imagine that the reason for that is Tasmania being more of a creeking/river running place than playing. I hear it doesn't have many good play spots. Hence the lesser value placed on full on play boat. But the creeking sounds super duper. ;) :2cents:
