Outfitting my wavesport forplay !!!! Please help 16 years 11 months ago #21426

Ok, new to this forum... I bought a used Wavesport forplay not too long ago and im not happy with the outfitting. Im not sure if im too large, but the thigh braces are way too tight and agressive, and i was looking if anyone knows of a replacement set i could get, or how to modify them. Im told the wavesport E-Z braces are a good option, but was not able to find any. I also thought about removing part of the curl, and making them less agressive. In addition, i was looking to move the seat back a few inches, but when i loosened the screws, there seemed to be no play, do i need to remove the mini-cell foam behind it, or just loosen the screws for the seat a bit more. Was warned not to remove them, so im trying to be extra carefull. I noticed that the minicell foam behind the seat has a slit in it, presumably so that if the seat slides back, it fits deeper into the slit. Sorry if im not describing it right. Can any one suggest how to squeeze more room out of this boat!!!!

Ok so here is what I have found that works for me. I removed the thigh braces all together and glued some foam into the top of the boat itself. Comfortable and I can still grip the boat to throw it around with no problem.

Problem number 2./

To adjust my seat to get just a little more room out of the boat. I took both sets of screws out and slid the seat back to where only one bolt on each side is actually holding the seat. I then took the remaining bolt and put a nut on it and tightened it into the boat.

Im 6'1 so now the boat fits like a dream and I love it. Hope this helps.

You were warned not to remove the screws because the retainers on the underside of them will fall off. Once this happens move your seat. Now remove the hip pads and there are holes behind them. Lay you kayak on its side and stick you fingers in the hold and find the bracket. Attach it to the screw and you are good to go bro. Its a pain but better pain in the off season then pain in your feet in the heat of paddling season
