Playboaters Footwear 16 years 10 months ago #21812

Hi! So I am on the market looking for a new pair of boots for a pair of size 9 feet that will fit into a Dagger G-force. I need something with good grip, as the neoprene socks that I used before wore through in about 6 months. Are there any tried and tested solutions, or are there any products that you would recommend? What do you use when playboating?

Thanks,
GS

I wear reef diving boots normally over neoprene socks yhat fit well and protect soles of socks and are not to big to not fit into kayak, they go up over the latex seal over dry trousers put under otter layer so they dont fill up with water they have velcro seal at top bought a pair on this website alot of choice and sizes

I wear the NRS desparado socks, they work perfectly especially since I have a tight fit in my P52 with nothing on my feet... good neoprene, good rubber on the bottom, and they even look as good as new still. If you want the same bootie but with more sole then get the NRS desparado shoes. I looked up a picture, the socks are on the top, the shoes on the bottom, *take notice of the soles*

The TEVAs are cool - just cost double the amount of the NRSs...

I've been paddling with Teva's for a while now and they've lasted a very long time. In fact they still will. But that is the problem with the one's I've got. The rubber compound is very hard and long wearing, which is nice, but it doesn't give me the grip I've needed on hundreds of occasions. I would rather take a shoe with a softer compound next time, which won't last as long. I had excellent service out of a pair of Palms with that split toe and they gripped like hot rubber but alas, it didn't take long before they wore straight through. They're super soft so are good enough for play boating or where long walks (or thorns!) are not a problem. I tried on two pairs of awesome looking Teva's last year but both were way too tight over the bridge of my feet. I don't consider myself to have hobbit feet at all and I know quite a number of people have complained about the same thing. Try before you buy! :silly:

I like the NRS rodeo socks. They fit into any playboat and have a nice rubber sole for walking around. Check out their website www.nrsweb.com and click on footwear
