Give me day or 2 to get to it.

Hey you,
well there are many different tricks, and not every trick is succesfully used by every one. I don't know which tricks you have already tried. I will just suggest some tricks I use.
So, if you got your boat only short time ago, you might try to spend as much time as you can in your kayak. Perhaps it sounds silly, but if you are able to do it, get in you kayak and watch a movie. when your legs fall asleep, get out of the boat, stretch your legs (you also are to do it before goin into the boat before every run). then get into the boat again and repeat it further time, propably it will improve. another reason for your problem could be your fittings. when your hip pads are pressing to tight on you hip, it could be that a veine is blocked and so your legs fall asleep. It is also possible if you don't really feel pressure on your hips. Then you need to decide if you want to have best controle but your legs fall asleep very fast or turned back.
Do you have ratchets on your backband? don't pull them too tight, but there you also have to find the right mix between controle and comfort.

But, in playboats, it is very normal that your feet fall asleep after a while, but it should not be after 5 minutes. So just stretc beofre getti into your kayak and just put your legs out of te boat further time while kayaking. it is normal,

well, I hope I could help you a bit, just try it, what a boat do you have, what a fitting do you use?
Greetings Jonas

make a sternstall and you regain the feeling in your legs shortly (that works in my Kingpin)

yeah,
I made that experience, too. when you are in action, the legs don't fall asleep, or only after a long time.
But don't worry, if it it after 1-2h its very very normal, and don't your arms need a little brake from time to time too?

All the comments made have good points to make and help in one way or another.
Regular stretching (with your daily work out?) is going to help.
Go to a sports medicine specialist and that will be one of the big points. The more you keep the muscles stretched the less pressure they will cause on certain nerves in the body. Even without external pressures the muscles themselves will put their own pressure on the nerves if they are tight.
FYI: For those who want to go that route: YOGA works.
Photo of the useful stretch are forthcoming.

In a polo, I can just survive an our, in my Necky, I can sit three ours without problems, later I have to get out once to scout  and than I can strech a little bit. Enough space in your boat is also very important.

In a polo kayak, It has been always a chinese torture for me, my feet was always asleep and no way to get out and relax, until the match is over. :)

internal space is a big issue in modern kayaks, particularly in playboats.
But things have got better in the last years with this ultra short boats because they have lot of space in the knee area.

I never tried a pyranha S6 but I'm afraid S6 belongs to the old family of playboats, since some friends of mine owns it and they comply that it is quite unconfortable.

This is kind of a drastic measure but I had a S6F 192 for quite awhile and had the same problems.

First I flipped the backband upsidedown. It was hitting my nerve tho so you probably don't need to do this.

Then I yanked the pad off the seatand replaced it with my own thin minicell. It the new minicell I cut two holes right where my butt bones hit the seat and viola.....no more numbness!!!!!  :roflol:

If you have some time on your hands it might be worth a shot! If it doesn't work for you, jsut put the old pad back in! Or do like Jonass said and spend more time in your boat....even if you are just watching TV or this winter in Indiana use the kayak instead of a bobsled :D that doubles the snow fun anyway!

I hope this helps!

~Peace~

Somewhere I read more drastic advice,
the guy suggested to warm up the boat, and to sit inside until the boat cool down

I would never dare to do such a thing on my boats.

try pulling up in a reasonably good sized eddy and just masage (kiss if you want) your feet. Brings them back to life.

i have problems with my legs going to sleep.

I usually massage my legs during pauses when they are asleep, but if i would kiss my feet after one hour inside neoprene shoes, I would became a kind of zombie (a dead with living (thus moving) feet) :)

Seriously speaking, I think there are differences beetween legs and feet asleep.
Legs problems in my experience are more related a bad position of the backrest, that was the problem i had with my old Rainbow DNA backband that was positioned a little bit too low. This kind of problem I usually managed to reduce changed slightly seat position etc.
Foot problems are usually more related to foot size and kayak shape, and I never managed to solve (most unconfortable kayak I tried was Rainbow Sayan).
