Hi I have a leaky old Yak osprey Dry cag that I am looking to upgrade. I was all set to buy a Sidewinder but then was shown the Creek from Peak.

Can anyone give me the prows and cons of either Cag as I'm now totally confused and not sure which way to go?

Regards.

Adie

The Creek looks pretty good, but you may want to check out immersionresearch.com and nrsweb.com for some more drytops. If you want a drydeck, IR makes those too.

Don't i know you from wednesday evenings at stanley? ;)

Anyway, If i had to choose i would go for the Sidewinder. It's nicely built with some tough materials (kevlar on elbow ?). It's as well loaded with tiny features like pockets and reflective lines. The outer neck seal looks very functional as well!

I use a peak cag myself and it works very well for me although sometimes i have water in my sleeves but nowhere else..

I think brookbank has the creek on offer which makes the decision 40 pounds (?) cheaper, though.

:2cents:

Cheers

Hi Tkretek.

Yes you know me from Stanley. Although no CR anymore as I’ve replaced it with a Blisstick.

Thanks for the info on Sidewinder. I did know about Brookbank's reduced prices on the Creek top. My worry at the moment regards to the Sidewinder is I have heard that palm are having some issues with their gear delaminating and taped seams coming unstuck. Also the Creek has some cracking points like the price, pockets for elbow shoulder and back pads, cons of no dry pockets but I don’t use them so that’s not an issue, but elbows are only made of rip stop not Kevlar. Not sure of their colours either.

C you out on the water sometime.

Has anyone else got any info on pros and cons of each cag?

Regards.

Adie.

The "Dry Pockets" are more liek very damp pockets and what ever you put in them gets soaked, I have the sidewinder torrent and personally find the pockets pretty pointless, but its a nice cag as the Peak Creek jacket, go for which ever feels comfier
