make sure it has a blunt tip. Every time I talk about getting a knife for my kayak. My Instructor (Friend) tells me about the time when his friend was going down class one river got caught in a strainer and cut him self in the leg cutting the skirt off of the kayak. He lost a lot of blood and nearly died because of it so MAKE SURE IT HAS A BLUNT TIP.

Buy a Petzl. They make an excellent knife. 2 sizes. The smaller one is better as it is serrated. Just take the tip to a grinding wheel or an angle grinder to round it off. It's got a convenient hole in the knife that fits through most karabiners :bounce: good price too i reckon.
