Several Options exist, but firstly are you using sun tan lotion or a hand moituriser? as both leave your hands slippery. Normally the shaft on the Werners and most other paddles actually are grippy when wet, but if you require more grip then you can try

1) Use surf wax (warm water or base coat, not the soft stuff)

2) before paddling get a handful or grit or sand and rub the shaft of the paddle to roughen up the surface area

3) If you have been using sun tan lotion try some of the spray varities as they are not as greasy.

You shouldn't need to grip the paddle too hardly

Hope this helps

Check this out: www.princetennis.com/tennis/files/produc...d=299&ProductId=1322 . Also, you could try using hockey/tennis grip tape and wrap it around the area that your hands are.

yup! everyone already touched on it but yea, I used a yellow duct tape on my paddle shaft and it works great..

*tip* I put a cut up foam strip under the tape so my paddle has an ergonomic fit to my hands. But even more importantly, if I loose grip of the paddle and go over, I know exactly where my hands need to be so I can hit my roll. I'd recommend that since you have a straight shaft paddle.

You can also get wax, if you don't want a surfer wax, they make wax specific for our needs. (although I can't tell you what the difference in the waxes are)

on my FG paddle I wrap the grip surface with electric tape and the tie litte ridges stop slipage B) again ill echo the previous post abbout getting a little closed cell foam to ergo out the shaft and give you a refrence point should you be upside down and sorting yourself out
