Last weekend we had the Spanish Freestyle Championship in Ourense, at the same spot the Freestyle European Championship will be celebrated in two weeks. The Spanish Championship was a test for the organizers to see how things are and how they should be.

Angry surfers you say? It's such a bummer that they immediately think that people in kayaks are the world's biggest idiots and don't know the rules etc. Oh well... :silly:

There was an incident here a while back where a surfer attacked a kayaker here in Cape Town with a knop kirrie (Google it, it's common in South Africa - I have one in my car....) in the parking lot and needless to say the kayaker went unconscious after a bit of a beating! The surfer was banned (from Kommetjie) by law for many months... Such a waste to let things get to that stage! Can't we just all get along? As I bodyboard as well as surf kayak, I come across this a lot. Why can't surfers just realise that it isn't their surf...it's no ones. I'm sure I'm not alone in my thoughts. Anyone else? :)
