How do these boats compare. They have very different specs, but marketed as serving the same function. Big water, forgiving, creeks, stable, room for gear??

One of the biggest differences is volume and hull shape. The Super Hero has the Fun-series hull, which means that you can turn much quicker than you can in the Burn. The Super Hero also has much better outfitting. However, you can't go down big waterfalls in it, because the planing hull will just land flat on a boof and injure your spine. Displacement hulls like the Burn have softer landings as well as more speed. The Burn L has 80 gal. of volume and is 8' 3", and the Super Hero is 7' 11" with 87 gal. of volume. A better comparison would be the Pyranha Karnali vs. the Jackson Super Hero or the Pyranha Burn vs. the Jackson Mega Rocker.

The everest is pretty much a plaining hull, just not as flat to the edge as the Hero (fun hull)

Id say the larger differences come in on the transition from teh plaining surface of the everest/burn as to the hero. the pyranha boats tens to softly and gradually trans to the rail, this keeps the rail up and out until you want to engage it for snappy eddy turns etc. The burn/everest has more rocker than the Hero too

I would say that the hero is a great creekign boat too and there is a little push to make these pl;ayful creekers (ammo)...if you are really creeking I would go with the burn/everest ot the rocker (not that the hero wont creek). Big water the burn will be a better choice as it will be much faster than the hero and less likely hole bait. I paddled my burn as my go-to kayak for my first runs on the Upper Gauley this year and was incredibly happy with it. Now that Im creeking I am thinking along the lines of moving to a full on displacement hull kayak to soften out taller boofs :woohoo:

That being said, if youre looking for a good do anything boat that will turn on a dime and still fire up class 4+ creeks... Well the Hero will keep you happy too. Plus JK outfitting is better than Pyranha IMO
