Best way to try is to demo, but I don't think you'll have any problems - my inseam is 34" and I use a pretty pumped up happy feet, and when I was still using the supplied footblocks I used 2 of them.

I am 6'2" and 185lbs I fit in without issue. I am a little short legged for my height.I too use happy feet.

By my subjective experience Flirt has more room for feet - I had to cut-down my old feet block to adjust it for Nemesis (and front block also). On the other hand Nemesis gives you better feeling on the water. So, try it and if You can get in, You will like it. :)

I'm 6' and about 187 lbs, less since I'm in mourning... Fit in the boat no worries, no matter what. :) I have a big block of foam in the front. Mates of mine are taller, maybe 6'3" and they still fit nicely, with longer legs, and less (to almost no) foam in front). I think it has more room than the Flirt. I prefer the seating position and feel on the Nemesis, over the Flirt. I have no idea on my inseam. I guess I should measure someday.

Very cool boat. When the swell is crap I take my Nemesis for some big air. Always good fun! (otherwise the Element). On the river I've really enjoyed it too. Anything else, just shoot.

Cheers,
Adrian

According to Fluid website both boats are 65 cm / 25.5" wide, however Flirt is narrower in knees area. But probably because it is longer than Nemesis I had a feeling that it has more room for feet.

The shape/height of the knees etc. equals something called, wait for it, FEEL  It's the way I feel, I prefer the seating position in the Nemesis. And also, it doesn't have those knobs which can crack your shins...

A lot cheaper than what you can get them, because this shop is about 5km away from the factory.. So your boat has to be driven down to Durban port. Then shipped up to somewhere in Europe, then driven to a distributer, then driven to the shop. Fuel is expensive and everyone is out there to make a living through their businesses. Then they add import tax. Lovely stuff. It's a miracle they aren't more expensive.. B)

Hope that helps,
Adrian

Just wanted to clarify, Nemesis has enough room for feet and everything, and, yes, it is the best boat ever! B) So, go for it, You will not regret! :)

P.S. Flirt takes second place ;)

Yeah I also prefer the Nemesis. Took a friends Flirt the other day out on some flatwater and I could feel the difference. Between the medium Flirt, and the medium Nemesis, the Nemesis felt like it had more volume, and way more balanced on end. I actually don't know what the website says about volumes and am too lazy to look now. :) But anyway, try the boat, you might like it. :woohoo:

A mate of mine just left there, and they seem to have employed someone new there already. But mail them anyway, speak to Hugh. They do run kayak trips sometimes, but mainly do training. They are in a small town called Parys, about 140km away fromm Johannesburg.

cool il do that. well i had a demo in the nemisis on the holme pierrepoint in nottingham and i wasnt impressed. i so wanted to be but i had to put the seat all the way back and it squashed my feet to pain and i dropped off of every wave bar 1. dont know wot was wrong but id demo'd loads of other boats and they were pretty good.i think maybe i was wearing booties so squashed feet could be avoided by no shoes and a bit of padding. as for the dropping off the waves maybe i had a bad run but im sure il be paddling a lot more in africa so il get used to it. i demo'd the nemisis, allstar, RAD 185, big dog- kaos (brand new kayak make based in nottingham) g force 6.3 and the RAD was the best for air but the allstar for flat water and surfing. i was right back in the allstar but it shudnt make that much difference. im not gunna condem the nemisis based on 1 30min session tho. il give a go again sum time. cheers for all your feedback.

Sparx,

Remember that your summer is our winter so not the best time to paddle in SA unless you come down to Cape Town.

Cheers

Cape Town still has some good paddling in our winter. (well, it only gets winter rainfall). And, of course, we get monster swell during winter too :)

Good to see you online again Stuart. Time to dust off the Solo again and prepare for action!!!!!!!

Oh wow... Unwrap her

I work in Paarl now so I could potentially hit the Molenaars or Wit after work :) REALLY CLOSE NOW!!! WOO HOOOOOOO. Check out soon. Must make a DVD evening mission..

Ja, sorry for the offtopic. I'll stop now.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't like the Nemesis. Different strokes for different folks. Weird that you had to move seat backwards, you must be pretty tall. Good luck, and test out some more boats until you find one that feels right. Check out the Bliss Stick RAD
