inflatable Playboats 15 years 10 months ago #26626

is their anywhere that sells them?

if not they should. i would love to be able to take it on holiday to use in the pool, it would be amazing.

Does anybody know if they exist/get sold?

what do think of the idea?

interesting question. i know of the inflatable creeker by grabner:

playak.com/kayaks.php?id=1542

but have never heard of an inflatable playboat. thing is, since playboating is often park&play, and the boats are small anyway, there's not a big advantage in making an inflatable one. i've taken mine in trams, busses and even on international trains, without any problems. only for airplanes, inflatables would be better.

but then there is the trade-off in boat stiffness, which is important for a playboat...

let us know if you ever find one!

PS there's also the Airis Play: playak.com/kayaks.php?id=1496 , but i think that's not what _you_ would consider a playboat...

wouldn't the inherent volume an inflatable Playboy stop you from sinking the ends? If so you could never do much more than a flat spin

that would probably be a bit of a problem, but i am sure that someone could find someway of overcoming that.

Ark inflatables: Kayark 1
We used to paddle these as guides when we started out long ago. You can surf, spin and do roundhouse and shuvits. in holes we could get enders and pirouets, never managed to link ends for cartwheels. You can even roll the buggers if you have enough leverage like with a pawlata roll, takes time to setup and is not easy to roll like that in violent current. The kayark happily runs up to gr4 water, better suited to low and medium volume rivers. You tend to get pummeled in big holes as you battle to punch through them.

;)
It's refreshing to see that someone still remembers what a pawlata roll is!
Nice. That is how I learnt to roll.
Cheers
