hey,

I definitely agree with alex, I have the player and it is a great paddle! I love everything about it, its comfortable, strong, and light!
although I have never really heard anything about tywarp's I do know that they look cool, but looks aren't what you should be worried about, paddles are obviously one of the most important parts of paddling, and you wouldn't want to be stuck up the creek with a paddle now would you! :P

If you are paddling on rocky/shallow rivers I would recomend having a look at the h2o-Team paddles. The blades are designed for freestyle. If you are like me and don't like crank shafts ask them nice and they will put the blades on a straight shaft for you. I have used the Werner Player and the Sidekick (larger blade than player) and they are very nice. So if you have enough water that you will not be smashing your blades on rocks then try werner, if you are worried about rocks have a look at the h20-team.

i try an h20 and i hate the flexy feeling of the blade, if you want something solid to bash check out the select paddle, the blast and remember the carbon is th stiffest and lightest but it's not made to bash on rock like kevlar

I agree with what has been said, however from a personal point of view, I paddle the gull most often because its my local spot and I have a Werner Player which is made of Carbon Fibre and still after two season's of paddling it hasn't broken yet!

i have a rough stuff black magic. although it's a bit heavyer then most paddles but it's strong and the shaft has a good grip to it. i dont like the grip on the h20 paddles

i have to say that the H20 team paddle i have is great. with only 30 degree feather it is easier for playing, and it is very light. i disagree with palm paddler as i believe the grip is comfortable and.....errrr......grippy.
it is quite expensive but i got it cheap when i got my boat, so if you look for the bargains you might be able to get it.
hope this helps, jonathan.
