Plastic slalom boat 15 years 10 months ago #26784

I want to remember the old and good times at cheaper price of course :) . Which plastic slalom kayaks are now in the market?

In the forum of Galasport, people ask for some plastic version of Toro. Any input.

Well, I picked up the DragoRossi SL 350 I think about a month and a half ago. I was just out paddling it this evening. I really like it. *To be clear, though I have been kayaking (sea yaks) for several years, I am spanking new to slalom. I like that the boat is so light I can car-top it with a very light touch/2 hands. It's good quality plastic and is very fast on the water. Comes at a good price and Scott is really nice to deal with. Only down-sides are that some of the baked in graphics (evidently just at the surface of the plastic) peal in some places--not major and not that big a deal, and it doesn't come with the cool DragoRossi Dragon logo as pictured in ANY picture you see on the net. Damn.

I liked my white SL 350 enough that I bought a yellow 2nd one for my daughter.

Here's a picture of my white SL350. Notice the cool Turtle graphic I added.

Never mind. I can't figure out how to make my pictures a smaller files size so they will be accepted and turning it into a small bitmap makes the thing look like a stick figure holding a banana. :(

If you're using windows, try a free but very powerful tool called irfanview (www.irfanview.com).

open your image in irfanview (rightclick, open with), menu item "Image", "resize/resample". Best is to choose a percentage of your current size, like 20% or something. Next, menu item "file, save as" and you're done!

BTW: irfanview has a lot of very good options and can be used for most (if not all) image thingies you'd like to do (unless you have very specific photoshop macro's or something).

Hope this helps,

Michiel
