New green & silver colours for Fluid Kayaks 15 years 7 months ago #27617

Good Day,

Every Fluid boat is available in 3 basic colours - red, yellow and orange, and then also a 4th model specific colour. Like purple for the Spice, pink for Nemesis, green for Solo and white for Element. BUT now, you can get your boat in ANY colour.

"1) The special colours have to be colours that we already use in other models. In other words white, pink, purple, green, black and silver.
2) There will be an extra fee. Contact your local dealer to inquire.
3) A deposit will be required. Arrange with your local dealer.
4) It might take a while to receive the special colour boat, as it will have to tie in with bigger shipments from the factory."

Here are photos of the new green and the new silver. Looks pretty cool. And if you didn't notice, the Solo logo has changed as well. When I have more to report, I will.

Cheers,
Adrian

I love both colors, and the new 'solo' logo looks much better as well.

Is Fluid going to the thigh-brace mounted ratchets? That's what it looks like from the pictures, but I can't tell.

Nice, but hopefull you won't loose that one in a greyish mountain river... hard time finding it maybe? One could add red dots to it....

Looks special!! , but nice...

Attention, I've had to remove the photos until after the Kanumesse due to certain issues from dealerships. Sorry about that. Not my fault... Stand by, once again ;) I can assure you, they're very cool colours. hehe

Adrian (and everyone else) - you can still see the cached pictures. If you know how to get to the cached view, then great, but if not, you can't see the pictures. Why did Fluid go to the thigh brace mounted ratchets though? Maybe ease of access, but I never really liked them.

Nice, I didn't know you could do that Ian... I hope you're not going to waste away after school...? I've said that to you before   :)

But to finally answer your question, there simply wasn't space on the floor anymore. You'll understand when you see it. Most people like them on the thigh braces. Plus, from an engineering point of view, they can deliver more power from the thighs. :P

Personally, I prefer them on the floor. I NEVER adjust my rachets. My backband stays the same, climbing in and out of the boat.... :silly:

The physical position of the ratchets, nothing to do with your actual thighs. ;) Pure mechanics ;-) Sorry if I was misleading...

Since I think Dagger isn't using the Flipswitch anymore, if Fluid could buy the Flipswitch patent, that would be pretty cool. Would it be possible to mount the ratchets on the bow side of the plastic where the hip pads are attached?

Right, I got another mail saying to put the photos back up. Sorry about that... Enjoy!

I'm not sure about those ratchets. Anyway, just wait until the Kanumesse in Germany. :P After that I can post pictures of the outfitting.... I think that's in a few weeks time.

Adrian

I like the battleship Grey. If I get a boat in that colour I'll call it Bismarck.
