I am a 5'2" 105 lb female new to whitewater kayaking. Looking for some advice on my first boat purchase
I made a list of boats that would fit my weight range but not sure which direction to go in (play vs river runner vs hybrid play/river).
I want something I can learn in but is easy to roll.
Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated!

Jackson fun 1.5 or 2
Dagger axiom
Wavesport diesel 60
Wavesport fuse
Fluid detox (bottom looked too flat for me to roll easily?)

Found a diesel 60 for $799- sounded like good deal?

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to whitewater paddling, you will love it!
out of the choices you listed I would have to go with the 2Fun. these are the easiest rolling boats I have been in, plus they have a very forgiving hull. I would pick the 2fun over the 1.5 just for the extra volume and comfort. I have a 4Fun and a Fun.( soon to have a 2fun) I dont know where you are located but most every area of the country has paddling club websites most of which have a used gear section, This is the easiest and cheapest way to get into kayaking I bought my Fun for $500 and that came with a skirt and paddle! Im in Southern Missouri and frequently go to the St. Louis and the Arkansas canoe club sites to find bargains. But, I buy most of my boats and gear once a year at Nantahala outdoor center's (North Carolina) year end sale in September. Its called GAF (Guest Appreciation Festival) People come from all over to buy, sell, and trade. plus you can demo boats to see if you like them or not, and the Jackson family is there every year so you can get answers directly from them. go to www.noc.com to get info and directions. Last year I bought a playboat for $150! this sport has the nicest, most helpful people you will find! always willing to help, and I've been doing it since 1996 and am now 47 and still loving it.
Hope this helps, and would be happy to help out, if you have more questions
